Bonus: A Tribute to Michael Nesmith
To say Michael Nesmith’s work has had a huge influence on us would be an understatement. His passing on December 10th has been a huge blow that we’re still reeling from. So it only seemed right to take some time and pay tribute to a man who’s music and art has been such a huge part of our lives, whose creativity and exploration was nothing short of inspiring, and whose journey will always be somewhat intertwined with our beloved Beatles, not to mention the couple of guests we’ve had on here who have worked with him (Andrew Sandoval and Mike Viola).
This was all prepped relatively off the cuff, so while it may not be us at our most eloquent, it’s all from the heart. We discuss a baker’s dozen of Nez tunes from both his time with the Monkees and his fantastic solo catalog. Our lives have been made better by the fact that his music has been a part of it, and we hope to share that with you, as it seems the best way to honor him.
We’ve also made a playlist of the songs we discussed, with a bunch more added for deep diving and enjoyment. We hope you find some of the enjoyment in it that we have over the years. You can find them below the episode.

Note – The Apple Music playlist has more songs on it, as his albums from The Prison on forward are not available on the platform.
Wherever you’ve ended up on this infinite journey, thanks for the ride, Nez.
